James Beard honor makes Le Rêve culinary destination for Sheridan, entire U.S.
Sheridan, Wyoming, is quickly becoming a culinary destination, and we’re excited to share that Le Rêve Restaurant & Raw Bar is making waves on the national stage. The Sheridan Press highlighted our restaurant’s incredible recognition as a 2025 James Beard Award semifinalist, further solidifying Sheridan’s place in the food scene.
Le Rêve Restaurant & Raw Bar, located in Sheridan, has been named a James Beard Award semifinalist, drawing national attention to the town's culinary scene. The restaurant, known for its French-inspired menu and elegant ambiance, opened in October and quickly gained recognition.
As Christer Johansson, co-owner, shared, “It’s a testament to what everyone has done… our staff and everyone from top to bottom creating this experience.” The restaurant’s success highlights Sheridan’s growing reputation as a dining destination.
“To see the joy and the different experiences and the way it brings people together… just being able to express our form of hospitality with the community has been very rewarding.” Gina Johansson said.
The 2025 James Beard Awards semifinalists list contains many restaurants and chefs from larger cities. Three restaurants mentioned are from Wyoming: Sitti’s Table in Cody, Atelier Ortega in Jackson Hole and Le Rêve. Of these three restaurants, Le Rêve is the only restaurant to be a semifinalist for a category not tied to a specific region. We are proud to be recognized as a key part of Sheridan’s growing appeal.
A Wyoming rarity, it’s a big deal for a local restaurant to be a James Beard semifinalist, especially considering the usual powerhouses of LA and New York. As Christer Johansson shares, "After years of following the awards, it’s incredible to see a Wyoming restaurant recognized on this level."
